Announcing Partnership With Phala Network: Accelerating User-owned Agents
The future is undeniably agentic. AI agents are poised to become integral members of human society, participating across various facets of our daily lives. At AiMoverse, we envision AI agents falling into three distinct categories:
- User-Owned Agents: These agents act as digital extensions of individuals, representing and serving their best interests.
- Platform-Owned Agents: Operated by institutions, corporations, or governments, these agents function primarily to advance the objectives of their respective platforms.
- Self-Owned Agents: Fully autonomous entities that operate independently, guided by their own objectives.
The Edge-Side Advantage
When considering deployment architectures, platform-owned and self-owned agents naturally align with server-side solutions, given their broader operational scopes. In contrast, user-owned agents benefit from client-side deployments, allowing them to be closely integrated with individual users. This alignment is the cornerstone of AiMoverse's mission.
To actualize this vision, we've developed Amico, the first open-source edge-side agent solution. Amico brings AI agents closer to users, enabling them to access comprehensive user contexts, thereby enhancing their ability to perceive, think, and understand. This proximity ensures that user data and assets remain private, secure, and verifiable.
However, a significant challenge persists: current large language models (LLMs) are not yet optimized for client-side deployments, especially on consumer devices like smartphones, computers, and wearables. Despite advancements in model efficiency and hardware capabilities, deploying sophisticated LLMs on edge devices remains impractical. This limitation underscores the need for a decentralized, trustless cloud-side deployment solution — enter Phala Network.
Phala Network: Empowering Decentralized, Trustless AI
Phala Network offers a decentralized cloud computing platform tailored for AI applications, bridging the gap between the need for powerful computational resources and the imperative of data privacy. By leveraging Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs), Phala ensures that AI computations are executed in a secure, confidential manner, safeguarding user data even during processing.
With a robust network of over 33,000 servers, Phala provides a scalable and reliable backbone for deploying AI agents, ensuring high availability and performance.
Integrating Amico with Phala Network
Amico is designed to support both client-side model deployments and integrations with cloud-side APIs. By partnering with Phala Network, we're enhancing Amico's capabilities, allowing user-owned agents to leverage decentralized, trustless cloud resources for tasks that exceed the computational limits of edge devices. This integration ensures that users benefit from powerful AI functionalities without compromising on privacy or control.
Looking Ahead
This partnership reaffirms AiMoverse's commitment to decentralizing the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) and championing user-owned agents. We're excited to announce the upcoming release of our first general edge-side agent demo, built upon Amico and powered by Phala Network's decentralized infrastructure. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of user-centric AI.
